Man gets life for human trafficking: A Lakshmipur court on Wednesday sentenced a man to life in prison for selling a four-year-old child to Saudi Arabia in 2016. Woman and Child Repression Prevention Tribunal Judge Md Sirajuddaulah Kutubi delivered the verdict after considering testimonies of 11 witnesses, and he also fined the convict Tk50000. The convict, Raju Hossain abducted a 4-year-old child and sold him for Tk30000 in 2016, confirmed State Council Adv Abul Bashar.

Six 'Jamaat Shibir men' arrested: Six suspected members of Jamaat-e-Islami and its student front Islami Chhatra Shibir were arrested with loads of Jihadi books from different hostels of Kurigram's Sadar upazila on Wednesday. Drug addict kills father: A drug addict allegedly beat his father to death in Mirzapur, Tangail, after the father refused to give him money on Tuesday night. The accused, Lavlu Khan, 30, is a drug addict, and he just came out of jail over a case filed by his mother. He tried to get the bail money from his father and when refused Lavlu beat him to death, police say. Headmaster slaps student, ruptured his eardrum: A first grade student of Gopalpur Bandhan Talimul Madrasa allegedly got his eardrum ruptured, after his teacher slapped him on Tuesday in Enayetpur, Sirajganj. The school organised a program and when the children became chaotic, the headmaster randomly picked Rifat, and forcefully slapped him. BU student stabbed by masked goons: A second year student of Barisal University was allegedly stabbed and injured by some masked goons in her dormitory staircase on Sunday. Jannatul Nowrin Urmi, was going towards her exam hall when the miscreants attacked and stabbed her with geometric compass, said the mother of the victim. She was taken to Barisal Sher E Bangla Medical College Hospital on Wednesday after her condition worsened. We filed a case on October 15, 2018 after she received death threats over the phone but law enforcers could not arrest anyone till now, said the father of the victim.
