Police have arrested sixteen leaders and activists of Jamaat–e–Islami and Islami Chhatra Shibir from Charmohanpur area of Chapainawabganj Sadar upazila with cocktails and gunpowder.
Chapainawabganj Sadar police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ziaur Rahman said "On information, the Jamaat-Shibir men were arrested while holding a clandestine meeting in an orchard in the area around 7am.
"They were arrested with fifteen cocktails and half kilograms of gunpowder."
A case has been filed against them under the Explosive Substances Act with Chapainawabganj Sadar Model police station, the OC added.
