An activist of Jana Samhati Samity (MN Larma), an ethnic, community based political party, has been shot dead in Rangamati’s Langadu upazila.
Pandab Chakma, 32, son of Prafulla Chakma of Baghaichari, was killed around 9:00am in the upazila’s Bandartala Chara area of Atarokchara union.
Police, citing local witnesses, said Pandab and his coworker Arjun Chakma, 32, went to the area for organisational work when several unidentified men rushed in and shot him.
Pandab died on the spot, said Langadu police station Officer-in-Charge, Syed Md Noor.
Arjun can’t be traced since the incident, he said, adding that police responded to the scene upon receiving news of the incident.
