A female brick klin worker was severely beaten reportedly after a failed rape attempt in Narail.
The incident took place near Kawrikhola - Kamthana area in Lohagara upazila around 8pm Thursday.
The woman is currently undergoing treatment at Lohagara Upazila Health Complex.
The victim at the hospital said three men, Amanot, Al Amin and Ajijur forcibly took her to a garden in a bid to rape her. As she resisted, the trio beat her mercilessly with iron rods.
Lohagara Upazila Health Complex On-duty Doctor Ripon Ghosh said: "The woman was admitted with severe head injuries, needing 8-10 stitches. Even, her hand has been broken. She is currently under treatment with critical condition."
Lohagara police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Amanullah Al Bari said: "We spoke to the woman and her rescuers. We will take action against the accused after investigation."
