A house help has allegedly stolen cash from the residence of Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal at Gulshan 2 in Dhaka.
The maid, Salma Begum, has remained absconded since after the theft took place on December 13, 2019.
A case was filed in this regard with Gulshan police station on December 31, 18 days after the incident.
The case was filed by Jahangir Hossain, manager of the Lotus Kamal Group, Aminul Islam, inspector (investigation) of Gulshan police station, told the Dhaka Tribune.
"We are trying to arrest the accused," he added.
According to the case statement, the accused Salma stole Tk70 thousand breaking the almirah at the house.
According to police, Salma hailed from a village of Dinajpur and started working at the minister's house from September 25 last year.
