Ex-deputy minister Humayun Kabir dies

Kabir, former general secretary of Brahmanbaria district Awami League, twice chairman of Brahmanbaria municipality, breathed his last at Brahmanbaria General Hospital on Sunday

Former deputy health minister Humayun Kabir has died while undergoing treatment for heart diseases in Brahmanbaria at the age of 68.

Kabir, former general secretary of Brahmanbaria district Awami League, twice chairman of Brahmanbaria municipality, breathed his last at Brahmanbaria General Hospital on Sunday.

According to sources, he is to be buried in his family graveyard following a namaz-e-janaza at Brahmanbaria Eidgah after Zuhr prayers.

He left behind his wife, two sons, a daughter, and a host of relatives to mourn his death.

Senior Vice-President of district Awami League, Helal Uddin, said: “The void left by Advocate Humayun Kabir in the political arena is irreparable. We are gravely touched by his untimely death.”

President of Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Aziz Ahmed, former student Leader Md Shah Alam, and Vice-Chairman of the Brahmanbaria District Council, Advocate Lokman Hossain, were also present at the time.
