Jhinaigati Upazila Nirbahi Officer AZM Sharif Hossain visited the flood-affected areas to assess the situation.Around 20 villages in Jhinaigati and Nalitabari areas of Sherpur have been inundated after heavy rainfall the last two days.
Incessant rainfalls as well as onrush of water from the upstream hilly areas have led to the swelling of the Moharashi and Someshwari rivers, eventually leading to the flooding of many low-lying areas in Jhinaigati, Dhanshail, Kangsha, Nolkura and Gouripur unions, according to the upazila administration.
