Immigration police at Benapole of Jessore have been alerted to prevent Mohammad Omar Faroque Chowdhury, Bangladesh Awami Jubo League Chairman, from leaving the country.

Mohsin Khan Pathan, officer-in-charge (OC) of Benapole’s immigration police, confirmed the matter on Sunday evening, reports UNB.

He said they received a verbal directive regarding the matter from the Special Branch (SB) of Police.

"We have been asked to remain vigilant so that Jubo League's chief Omar Faroque, and Nepali citizens, who are involved in the casino business, do leave the country in any way," he said.

The directive came hours after expelled Dhaka South unit Jubo League president Ismail Hossain Chowdhury Samrat along with his associate Enamul Hoque Arman was detained by Rapid Action Battalion in Comilla early Sunday.
