4 held with foreign currencies worth Tk27 lakh in Benapole

Benapole Customs Intelligence officials have detained four people with foreign currencies worth Tk27 lakh while they were returning from India. The detainees are Kobir Hossain, Jamal Hossain, Ujjal Hossain and Borkot Ali. Kobir and Jamal is from Manikganj while Ujjal and Borkot are from Shariatput.Benapole Customs Intelligence Assistant Commissioner Mohammad Abdus Sadek said: “Acting on a tip-off, we searched their luggage and recovered $21,000 and Rs805,500 around 9:30am on Wednesday. “The estimated worth of the currencies is Tk27 lakh.”
