Police have recovered the body of a woman yesterday morning, a week after she went missing in Khagrachhari.
The deceased has been identified as Pritee Rani Tripura, 28, wife of Hari Shanker Tripura.
Pritee's body was discovered by police in a bush at Three-Mile area, by the Khagrachhari-Dighinala highway, on Monday morning.
Family members of the deceased claim that Pritee had been missing for a week.
Police said locals spotted the body on the side of Khagrachhari-Dighinala highway and reported the incident to police.
Based on the information, police rushed to the spot and recovered the body.
Later, Hari Shanker, husband of Pritee, identified the body of his wife.
Khagrachhari Additional Police Super MM Salahuddin said a primary investigation suggests that Pritee was strangled to death.
He said police have already launched an investigation into the homicide.
