Woman held with foreign currencies at Benapole

A money laundering case has been filed in this regard

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has arrested a woman with a cache of foreign currency at Amrakhali BGB checkpost in the Benapole area of Jessore.

Suraiya Begum, 50, hailing from Dhaka's Uttara, was arrested around 8pm on Saturday.

Commander Nayeb Subedar Shaheen Alam of Amrakhali BGB check post  said: "Acting on a tip off, Suraiya was arrested from a Dhaka-bound bus with $4400 US Dollars and Rs 13 lakh Indian Rupees."

Jessore BGB 49 battalion Captain Lt Col Md Selim Reza said: "The woman has been handed over to the Benapole port police station and a money laundering case has been filed against her."
