At least four construction workers have been killed and 15 others injured as a pick-up van overturned at Begumganj upazila in Noakhali district.
Identities of the deceased could not be ascertained immediately.
Begumganj police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Harunur Rashid said the vehicle--carrying 19 workers-- was heading towards Banglabazar under Begumganj upazila.
The accident took place at Chaumuhani Bazar around 7am on Sunday, after its driver lost control over steering while overtaking a rickshaw, leaving one of the workers dead on the spot.
He said the injured 18 were taken to Begumganj Upazila Health Complex and Noakhali General Hospital.
Later, Resident Medical Officer of Noakhali General Hospital Dr Syed Mohiuddin Abdul Azim declared three of the injured dead on arrival.
The other nine injured are undergoing treatment at the hospital, he added.
