A pillion rider has died when a truck ran him over after he fell off the bike in Bogra.
A Grameenphone salesman, 35-year old Rabiul Islam was speaking on his mobile as he fell off when the bike hit a bump on the Bogra-Naogaon road on Wednesday night.
Rabiul was returning home with his colleague, Roni, who was driving, when the accident happened.
Quoting Roni, Bogra Sadar police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Khorshed Alam said: "Rabiul received a call from his newly-wed wife around 11pm."
Rabiul died on the spot. His body was taken to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital for autopsy, he said.
Bogra Sadar police station Inspector Rezaul Karim Reza said the police are investigating the matter. No case had been filed till Thursday morning.
