A Gopalganj court sent a doctor and a nurse to jail on Sunday for administrating the wrong injection on a patient on May 20, and is yet to regain consciousness.
Marium Sultana Munni, a student of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science and Technology University became unconscious in the Gopalganj General Hospital due to a wrong injection and was later admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Dhaka Medical Hospital (DMCH).
On May 24, the student's uncle filed a murder attempt case with Gopalganj Sadar police station accusing Dr Tapan Kumar Mondal, senior staff nurse Shahnaj Parvin and Khuelika.
Regarding the case filed in the incident, Gopalganj Sadar police station OC Md Manirul Islam has said: "All of the accused were granted eight weeks bail by the court.

"The court of Magistrate Md Humayan Kabir denied the latest bail request of the two accused on Sunday and sent Dr Tapan and nurse Kuhelika to jail. Nurse Shahnaj was not present at the court."
He added that a charge sheet will be filed against the accused after further investigation.
Munni's elder brother Hasibul Rubel said: "Doctor's couldn't tell how much time it will take for Munni to gain consciousness. We are very worried."
On May 26, a five member probe committee of doctors submitted a report that found proof of administrating wrong injection in Munni's body by the senior staff nurse Shahnaj and Kuhelika. The report recommended Dr Tapan to be more careful in his duty.
