A mobile court in Gopalganj on Thursday sentenced a person to one year imprisonment for entering an HSC examination centre posing as a journalist.
The convict, Avijit Dhali, 30, hails from Diapara in Fakirhat area of Bagerhat.
He identified himself as the CEO of Bangladesh Press and Media Association and entered Sheikh Fajilatunnesa Government Women’s College in the morning, and started misbehaving with the teachers.
College authorities challenged him as he later tried to snatch answer scripts of the examinees, according to Principal Ashok Kumar Sarker.
Executive magistrates deployed at the exam centre Md Mahbub Jamil and Md Shakhawat Hossain contacted the organisation and learnt that they had no journalist named Avijit Dhali.
The magistrates then conducted a mobile court and jailed him for one year.
