Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested five suspected members of banned militant group Ansar Al Islam from Katakhali area of Rajshahi city on Sunday.
RAB identified the arrestees as Anisur Rahman Saddam, 30, Afroza Begum, 55, Ruhul Amin, 31, Mamun-or-Rashid, 35, and Abu Talha, 21. All of them are residents of Katakhali, reports UNB.
A RAB-5 official said that acting on a tip-off, a team of the elite force conducted separate drives in the area from 1:15am to 5am and arrested the five suspects.
The team also recovered two foreign pistols, two magazines, five bullets, 24 explosive devices (cocktails), and jihadi books from their possession, he added.
