President Abdul Hamid has left Uzbekistan for home on Wednesday after wrapping up his seven-day official visit to Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
A special VVIP flight (BG-1519) of Biman Bangladesh Airlines took off from Tashkent International Airport at about 3:15pm, carrying the President and his entourage members.
Mosud Mannan, ambassador of Bangladesh in Uzbekistan and high civil and military officials concerned went to the airport to bid farewell to the President.
President's spouse Rashida Khanam and Foreign Affairs Minister Dr AK Abul Momen are also accompanying him in the flight.
While visiting the Bangladesh embassy at Tashkent, President Hamid paid tributes to the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing a wreath on his portrait. He stayed at the embassy office for a while and had his lunch with the entourage members.
The president left Dhaka on June 13 to attend the fifth summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) at Tajik capital Dushanbe and another program in Uzbekistan.
