Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained four suspected smugglers with 41 gold bars, weighing 4.780kg, in Benapole.
The detainees are Anisur Rahman, 24, Riaz Molla, 24, Sabuj Mridhha, 18, and Tanvir Jaman, 18.
Jessore BGB Commander Lt Col Selim Reja said: “On a tip-off, we raided two buses from Desh Travels, and Eagle Transport at Amrakhali check post. We searched the four suspected smugglers, and recovered 41 gold bars worth Tk2.10 crore.
“A case has been filed, and the detainees have been handed over to Benapole Port police,” the BGB official added.
