A Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) team arrested two members of the banned militant organization Ansarullah Bangla Team in Narayanganj.
On Sunday, a team of RAB 11 arrested Abu Sayeed, 24, and Mahdi Hassan alias Golam Rabbi, 26, from the Masdair Bhuiyanbagh area in Fatullah, Narayanganj around 11pm.
RAB confiscated the laptops and a large collection of extremist books from the accused.
RAB 11 Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Md Alep Uddin said: "Abu Sayeed was working as the coordinator for Ansar Al Islam (Ansarullah Bangla team).
"After primary interrogation Sayeed said he joined the organization on 2016, with the inspiration of facebook posts, youtube videos and mahfils of Charmonai pir( self-proclaimed saint).
"Later Golam Rabbi joined the organization through him. They used to propagate extremist doctrine and gathered members from various areas.
"Efforts are underway to take legal action against them," added ASP Alep.
