A gust of wind caused a tree branch to break and land on a woman in Bagerhat, resulting in her death, on Friday.
Shaharun Begum, 50, was working near her home in Ranjitpur when she fell victim to the accident.
Jubo League leader Sheikh Alfaz, a relative of the deceased, said: “She [Shaharun] was working in front of the house when suddenly the heavy branch hit her.
“She was seriously injured and died while relatives were taking her to the Khulna Medical College Hospital.”
