A mobile court shut down the operations of a private hospital for employing fake doctors, while another hospital was given a four-day deadline to improve its services.
On Monday, Executive Magistrate Al Mamun gave the four-day deadline to Tangail Clinic and Hospital, and sealed off Capital Hospital. Both the hospitals are located in the Tangail sadar upazila.
Speaking to reporters, Executive Magistrate Al Mamun said: "The services in these hospitals are really bad. Many of the management officials escaped when we conducted a drive in the hospitals."
He added that more drives would be conducted subsequently at other hospitals in the sadar upazila.
On April 19, a fake doctor was arrested from Capital Hospital and sentenced to six months in jail by a mobile court the next day.
