A two-and-a-half-month-old infant was reportedly abducted at Bisharighat village under the Morrelganj upazila in the district on Sunday night.
The victim was identified as Abdullah, son of Shohag Howlader of the village.
According to sources, the criminals entered Shohag’s house at night cutting grill of the window while the child was sleeping with his parents.
Reshma Begum, the mother of the child said when I woke up around 4am , I did not find my child and found the window open.
My cell phone also could not be found.
In the morning, the miscreants demanded Tk5 lakh as ransom.
Morrelganj police station Officer-in-Charge KM Azizul Islam said police were trying to rescue the child.
