On Sunday morning, rescue divers with Patuakhali Fire Service and Civil Defence recovered the bodies of two workers who drowned when a trawler carrying them sank on Friday night.
The trawler was ferrying 15,000 bricks when a dredger rammed into it in the Ramnabad River in Debpur in Kolapara, according to Kolapara Fire Station Sub Officer Abul Hossain.
The trawler sank with seven on board, but five of them were recovered. Rescue operations started on Saturday morning for the two missing, whose bodies were discovered on Sunday morning.
The deceased have been identified as Md Saiful, 30, and Nur Islam, 35, both residents of Baintola village in Nilganj, Kolapara.
