Eight held for question paper leaks in Natore

Of the eight, two were sued under the Digital Security Act, and the other six were fined by mobile courts

RAB on Tuesday detained eight members of a gang involved in leaking SSC question papers in Gurudaspur upazila.

The arrestees: Abu Taher, 18, and Shihab Uddin, 22, were sued under the Digital Security Act.

Natore RAB Company Commander Zaid Shahriar and Gurudaspur police station OC Selim Reza, confirmed the matter on Tuesday.

Natore RAB Company Commander Zaid Shahriar said: “Acting on a tip-off, the elite force conducted a drive in the upazila and apprehended the suspects in possession of four mobile phones and five SIM cards.”

The arrested have confessed to being involved with a gang leaking SSC question papers, he added.

Gurudaspur police station OC, Selim Reza, said the police will present the accused before the court on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, in another drive, RAB detained Idris Ali, Harunur Rashid, Shakil Ahmed, Shahin Ahmed, Azizul Huq, and Azad Ali, from the Mashinda Bahadurpur area.

RAB mobile court judge, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Monir Hossain, fined them Tk50,000 in total, said the OC.

The individuals fined were aiding and abetting the other members of the gang, he added.
