A young man reportedly depressed over unemployment committed suicide at Mirzapur upazila in Tangail on Tuesday.
The deceased, Monirul Islam, 30, was married to Ivy Akter, a lecturer of accounting at Government Saadat College in Mirzapur.
The incident occurred around 9am, when Monirul suddenly locked the door of his room. Upon breaking down the door, his body was found hanging from the ceiling.
His wife claimed that he was mentally distraught over being unemployed for some time, despite having educational qualifications.
Mirzapur police Inspector (investigation) Mosharraf Hossain said they were investigating the matter.
