A local Awami League leader has been stabbed to death by unidentified miscreants in Mymensingh.
The incident took place at Moazzempur village in Nandail upazila on Friday night, reports the UNB. The deceased was identified as Morshed Ali, 55, president of Moazzempur Union Awami League.
Nandail Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Kamrul Islam Mia said that miscreants intercepted the rickshaw on which Morshed was returning home from a local market and stabbed him repeatedly around 10:30pm, leaving him severely injured.
Later, Morshed died of his injuries on the way to the hospital, said the OC.
