Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has paid homage to the martyrs of the Liberation War; after forming her government for a third consecutive term.
Sheikh Hasina paid tribute to the martyrs by placing a wreath at the National Memorial in Savar, on Tuesday morning, reports UNB.
After laying the wreath, she stood in solemn silence, for some time. This was a gesture of profound respect to the memories of the martyrs who sacrificed themselves for the independence of Bangladesh.

A smartly turned out contingent, drawn from the three services, gave a state salute, while a bugle played the last post on the occasion.
Flanked by her new cabinet colleagues, Sheikh Hasina placed another wreath at the memorial as Awami League’s president.
Advisers to the prime minister, Jatiya Sangsad chief whip, plus Awami League parliament members and central leaders were also present at the occasion.
Later, Sheikh Hasina signed the National Memorial’s visitors’ book.
