The High Court on Monday stayed fresh admission test initiatives at Kushtia Islamic University for two months.
A High Court bench of Justice Jobayer Rahman Chouddhury and Justice Iqbal Kabir passed the order following a writ petition filed by students.
The university syndicate decided to take fresh tests on March 16, following cancellation of the previous examinations that were held in December last year as they were riddled with allegations of question paper leaks.
The authorities had also canceled the admissions of 100 students and punished three teachers and two other employees over the allegations. Classes started on January 30 this year.
As 88 new students moved the High Court against the syndicate decision, the court stayed the process of fresh admissions for the “F Unit.”
It also asked to let the petitioners vie for the admission test, said Md Ruhul Quddus Kazal, the petitioners’ lawyer.
