The lowest temperature in Bangladesh has been recorded at 11.5°C in Sreemangal and Tetulia.
Dhaka met office meteorologist Ruhul Kuddus confirmed the matter to the Dhaka Tribune.
He said: "Sreemangal and Tetulia have the lowest temperature of 11.5°C on Thursday, which is the lowest temperature of the country. However, the lowest temperature in Sreemangal was 11.2°C on Wednesday."
In Moulvibazar district, of which the Sreemangal upazila is a part, the intensity of the winter has been increasing. Meanwhile, day labourers, people in the upazila's wetland areas and the tea gardens have been especially suffering from the chilly weather.
