Dr Zafrullah, at a press conference held in PHA Bhaban of Ashulia Gonoshasthya Kendra, on Wednesday, said that it is highly unethical, and illegal, of the government to record personal phone conversations to serve their political ambitions.
He also criticized the media for telecasting such audio clips as this will only encourage such incidents.
During the press meet he furthered: “The attacks on Ganashasthya Kendra are a direct result of my joining Oikya Front. For more than 30 years, public health centers have been operating in Bangladesh. However, some miscreants broke into the main gate of the PHA building and insulted the female students.
“This is a matter of great shame for us. They also physically abused the workers here. The staff only protested the wrongdoings. I do not know why my case was not filed by the police. We all have to work together to keep this organization alive. There is nothing to distort about the incident. It has also been suggested to public health workers to save themselves. I just instructed my workers to save our organization.”
Ganashasthya Kendra Trusty Board Director Saiful Islam Shishir, and the staff members of the organization, were also present at the press conference.
