National Sanitation Month October and Global Handwashing Day have been celebrated through various programs and events in Tangail.
Due to this occasion, a colorful procession was brought out from the Vivekananda High School & College grounds with the initiative of Deputy Commissioner and Department of Public Health Engineering (DPHE) around 10:30am on Wednesday.
The procession went around the main road of the city and then headed towards the Deputy Commissioner's office for a discussion program.
The program's chief guest was Tangail Deputy Commissioner Shahidul Islam. DPHE's Tangail division Executive Engineer Ibne Mayaz Pramanik addressed the program with a welcome speech.
At the program organized by the district Health Trainer Naim Khan, Additional District Magistrate Saidur Rahman and Nezarat Deputy Collector (NDC) Shahriar Rahman, among others, were present.
Besides, engineers from different upazilas along with students and teachers from several educational institutions were also present at the event.
