Four farmers were killed in lightning strikes in Atharokhada village of Magura Sadar upazila on Tuesday afternoon.
The deceased were identified as Rahmat Molla, 45, Monnu Molla, 25, Samin Molla, 30, and Akram Hossain, 30, of the same village.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Abu Sufian said the four farmers were working in a jute field amid rain and killed on the spot when the lightning struck.
Magura Fire Service and Civil Defence personnel later recovered the bodies after the locals notified them.
The district’s Deputy Commissioner Atiqur Rahman also pledged all sorts of aid to the families of the deceased on behalf of his administration.
