The district and upazila offices of the Election Commission on Thursday published the primary list of polling centres for the upcoming 11th general election.
Election Commission Assistant Secretary Rowshan Ara said the district and upazila offices have been asked to submit the list to the Election Commission Secretariat by September 8, so that it may be finalized.
“The total number of polling centres for the national election will be revealed once the primary list is finalized,” she added.
The draft list of polling centres for the national election was published on August 5. According to the draft list, there will be 40,657 polling centres and 209,418 voting booths.
On July 19, the Election Commission instructed its field level officers to make a primary list of polling centres.
In the 10th parliamentary election held on January 5, 2014, there were 37,707 polling centres and 189,078 voting booths.
