At least three have been killed and 37 others injured in separate road accidents in Bogra.
Bus driver Mithu, 38, Sajjad Hossain, 22, of Gaibandha, and Jahidul Islam Taz, a bus supervisor, were killed in the accidents which occurred on Dhaka-Bogra highway in Sherpur upazila on Sunday.
Sherpur police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Humayun confirmed about the accidents to the Dhaka Tribune.
Sherpur Fire Service and Civil Defense officer Ratan Hossain told the Dhaka Tribune:"A Dhaka-bound bus of Ena Paribahan collided head-on with a Bogra-bound bus of Chandni Classic on the highway near Mohipur area around 12am on Sunday, injuring 32 people.
“The injured were taken to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College (SZMC) Hospital where Mithu and Sajjad were declared dead."
In another accident, a person was killed and seven others have been injured as a bus of SR Paribahan bus hit a covered van on Dhunot intersection around 1:30am.
Jahidul was declared dead when the injured were taken to SZMC Hospital.
Bogra's Silimpur police outpost In-Charge Sub-Inspector (SI) Abdul Aziz Mandal said: "ASI Morshed Alam has been injured in the accident. He is currently working with District Special Branch in Dhaka.
“He will be taken to Dhaka for better treatment."
