A Rohingya man shot dead at a refugee camp in Teknaf, Cox’s Bazaar, was identified by the police as Abu Yaser, 22.
The incident took place at 4 pm on Friday at Leda Rohingya camp in Teknaf.
Teknaf police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ranjit Kumar Barua confirmed the matter, adding that there was on-going rivalry between suspect, Syed Alam and Abu Yaser of D block of the Leda Rohingya camp regarding the yaba trade. Abu Yaser was cornered and shot at 4pm and the suspect fled the scene. Police reached the scene after receiving the news. They rescued Abu Yaser and took him to the hospital where he was announced dead. A police team has been dispatched to the area and to find the killer.
