Khadiza Akhter Nargis, a Sylhet college student who was attacked by a Chhatra League leader in October, has returned home after treatment.
She arrived in Sylhet on a Biman flight after nearly five months of treatment at Square Hospital in Dhaka and Savar Centre for the Rehabilitation of the Paralysed (CRP).

On arriving at the airport, Khadiza demanded punishment of her attacker.
Expressing gratitude to all, she sought the prime minister’s support so that she could go back to her normal life.
It would take about five to six years for Khadiza to completely recover her health, Khadiza’s brother Shahin Ahmed said, adding that she would be undergoing follow-up treatment once a month.
She was discharged from the CRP on Thursday after having regained her health.
Earlier, she visited her house on February 1 for a week as part of the therapy to treat her mental state.

Former Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) unit Chhatra League leader Badrul attacked Khadiza, the second-year undergraduate student, with a meat cleaver on the MC College campus on October 3 last year. She was hacked on the head and hands.
He tried to flee after hacking her, but locals and college students caught him and handed him over to police.
Badrul has confessed to his crimes. The SUST authorities have already expelled him from the campus.
Khadiza’s uncle filed the case with Shah Poran police a day after the attack. Police pressed charges against Badrul with the Sylhet Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court after around 35 days.
