A schoolgirl died and another person was injured in Comilla as a speeding bus ran over them when they were crossing the Dhaka-Chittagong highway, Sunday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Aklima Akter, 16, a student of Gomta Ishakia High school.
The accident took place when the two were trying to cross the highway in the Gomata area f Chandina upazila around 2pm, said Monirul Islam, in-charge of Eliotgonj Highway Police Outpost.
The driver of the bus managed to flee with the vehicle after the accident, the policeman said.
