BNP leader killed in Panchagarh road accident

Yasin Ali was heading towards Tetulia on a motorbike, when a truck hit him head-on

A man named Yasin Ali, 52, who served as the general secretary of the Maidandighi Union unit of the BNP, has been killed in a road accident in Panchagarh.

Confirming the matter to the Dhaka Tribune, Panchagarh police station Officer-in-Charge Rabiul Hassan Sarkar said the incident occurred on the Panchagarh-Tetulia Highway near the helipad area, on Thursday evening.

According to witnesses and the local police, Yasin was heading towards Tetulia on a motorbike. A truck coming from the opposite side hit him head-on near the helipad area. 

Locals took him to Panchagarh Sadar Hospital, where the on-duty doctor pronounced him dead on arrival. 

The victim hailed from Haldiapukuri Village under Boda Upazila.
