A man and his daughter have been killed after a head-on collision between a tractor and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Naogaon’s Manda Upazila.
The incident took place on Ferighat-Niamatpur Road in Manda’s Ghatpur Madhyapara area around 4:45pm on Tuesday, locals and police said.
The deceased – identified as Azizul Haque, 27, and Tasfiha, 3, of Niamatpur – were passengers of the auto-rickshaw.
Locals said the two had died on the spot after the tractor crashed into the auto-rickshaw.
Manda police station’s Inspector Mahbub Alam said the bodies were recovered by police later. A case would also be filed over the incident, he added.
He said the tractor and the auto-rickshaw both were impounded. He, however, did not comment on apprehending the tractor’s driver.
