People from different ethnic minorities formed a human chain in front of the Khagrachhari Press Club on Friday morning to protest the gang rape of a Tripura girl earlier this week.
The 10th grade student was allegedly attacked by a group of Bangali settlers in Zilla Parishad Park near the town at around 1:30pm on Tuesday.
The victim has since been undergoing treatment at a local hospital.
Speakers at the human chain, arranged by Bangladesh Tripura Welfare Society and Tripura Students’ Forum, demanded the immediate arrest of prime suspect Mozammel and his accomplices.
Police had arrested five people in connection with the incident.
