Four road accidents in three different districts across Bangladesh have left seven people dead.
The accidents occurred in Mymensingh, Gopalganj, and Narsingdi between Tuesday late afternoon and Wednesday morning.
In Mymensingh, a collision between an autorickshaw and a microbus left four dead and three injured. The incident occurred in the Mukagacha upazila around 7:30am Wednesday, confirmed Muktagachha Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ali Ahmed Mollah.
A truck loaded with mangoes lost control and overturned in Gopalganj, killing businessman Shahid Khan, 30, and injuring three others. The incident took place in the Majhbari area of Kotalipara upazila around 4:30am Wednesday, confirmed Kotalipara police station OC Mohammad Kamrul Faruq.
In Gopalganj’s Kashiani upazila, a three-wheeler hit a coconut tree and turned on its side killing 32-year-old Roich Sheikh, and injuring 10 others. The incident occurred late afternoon on Tuesday, and was blamed on the driver, who was talking on his mobile phone while driving. The incident was confirmed by Kashiani police station OC Md Azizur Rahman.
A carelessly driven tractor pulling a trolley hit a tree and fell into a ditch in the Raipura upazila of Narsingdi, killing Md Mamun Bhuiyan, 18, and Rabiul Miya, 20, and injuring 15 others. The incident occurred around 6am Wednesday while the trolley was carrying 30 youths on their way to Raipura Degree College to play football. Raipura police station duty officer Sub-Inspector Rafiul Karim confirmed the incident.
