A man has been accused of trying to rape two children in Tangail’s Mirzapur.
One of the victim’s mothers filed a written complaint against Nuru Mia, 40, at the Mirzapur police station in connection with the incident on Saturday.
According to the complaint, Nuru Mia took the two children to a bamboo bush on the pretext of getting them mangoes in Nayapara village on Friday.
He gave each of the children Tk20 and asked them to take off their clothes.
One child, 8, managed to flee but Nuru Mia held the other child, who is 10 years old, and tried to rape her.
People rushed to the scene hearing the child’s screams. However, Nuru Mia fled the spot.
Mirzapur police station’s Officer-in-Charge AKM Mizanul Haque said legal measures will be taken against the alleged person.
