Police have recovered a body in Cox’s Bazar town with yaba tablets and a gun beside it.

The body was discovered in the Kolatoli area of the town around 8:30am Thursday morning, confirmed Cox’s Bazar Additional Superintendent of Police Md Afrazul Haque Tutul.

The deceased has been identified as 36-year-old Mohammad Hasan from the Kolatoli Adorsho Gram area.

Police said there are multiple drug dealing cases filed in the man’s name with many different police stations of the district.

Tutul also said: “Locals informed police about an unidentified body lying in the Kolatoli area in the morning. Upon reaching the scene, police found Mohammad Hasan’s bullet-ridden body.

“One thousand yaba tablets and a locally-made gun were also found at the scene,” he added.

The officer also said the murder could have been motivated by a drug dealing rivalry or internal gang feud.

The body had been sent to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital for autopsy, informed Tutul.
