A part of the railway overpass at Fatehpur in Feni on Dhaka-Chattogram highway has been opened to traffic, aiming to reduce traffic jam on the highway.
Mohiuddin, a project manager of the Fatehpur railway overpass, said while talking to the reporters at Fatehpur railway overpass on Tuesday.
The overpass was opened around 2:30pm for the public, he said, adding that the railway overpass will be fully opened before Eid-ul-Fitr.
The construction work of the railway overpass at Fatehpur started in 2012. Later, the Bangladesh Army got the task to finish the construction work.
The Dhaka-Chattogram highway had experienced major congestion due to work on a railway overpass in Feni for the last five days.
A 15km tailback was created on Dhaka-Chattogram highway on Tuesday morning, causing immense sufferings to commuters.
