Seventeen school students were hospitalized after suffering from mass hysteria in Chuadanga on Monday.
The incident took place at Bottola Government Primary School in Damurhuda.
The students are being treated at Damurhuda Upazila Health Complex.
School authority told the Dhaka Tribune that the students were administered deworming tablets supplied by the local hospital. However, the students then fell sick and were rushed to the health complex.
Responding to a query, Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr Abu Hena Muhammad Jamal said: “Some of the students suffered mass hysteria, but their conditions have improved.”
