Primary schools are usually closed two days a week—Friday and Saturday. However, the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education has decided that schools will remain open on the next 10 Saturdays.
The decision was announced in a circular issued on Tuesday.
According to the circular, signed by Deputy Director Zainal Abedin of the Directorate of Primary Education, learning gaps have been created among students due to school closures throughout the month of Ramadan. To make up for this, teaching activities will be conducted in government primary schools on the next 10 Saturdays after regular classes resume. The directive was issued by the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education.
The circular also said that a related notice has been sent to all District Primary Education Officers.
