13 dead in bus cylinder blast in Faridpur

At least 13 people have been killed when the gas cylinder on a bus exploded after colliding with another vehicle in Faridpur’s Nagarkanda. Police and witnesses said at least 15 other bus passengers were hospitalised after the accident at Gazaria on the Dhaka-Khulna Highway around 11pm on Friday. Doctors said the charred bodies were beyond recognition. Bhanga highway police OC Ezazul Islam said the bus was going to Dhaka from Narail. “Thirteen people were killed on the spot,” he told the Dhaka Tribune. The injured were rushed to Mokhsur Upazila Health Complex, Bhanga Upazila Hospital and Faridpur Medical College Hospital.
