ASK expresses concern over zero progress in Tawki murder case after five years

Update : 06 Mar 2018, 07:36 PM
Human rights watchdog Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK) has expressed grave concern over the failure of investigators to make any progress in their investigation of the murder of Narayanganj A-level student Tanvir Mohammad Tawki even after five years. “After taking charge of the investigation, RAB has failed to submit the probe report before the court after five years,” reads a press statement issued by ASK on Tuesday. ASK fears the failure to find a breakthrough in the case will promote a culture of impunity and further decrease trust in the judiciary. Tawki was found dead on the banks of the Shitalakhya in Narayanganj on March 8, 2013, two days after he went missing.
