Traffic accident in heavy fog kills three

Three people were killed in a head-on collision between a pick-up van and a CNG autorickshaw under heavy fog in Matlab, Chandpur. The accident took place in Babubazar area in the upazila around 6:30 in the morning on Tuesday, Matlab North police station Officer-in-Charge Anwarul Haque told the Dhaka Tribune. The deceased were identified as Alamgir Hossain, 50, Mafizul Islam, 45, and Anik Sarkar, 24, from Pachani area. Two other people were injured. The CNG autorickshaw was carrying passengers heading to Chandpur, and the pick-up van was laden with vegetables. The victims died on the spot, said OC Alamgir. The bodies were sent to Matlab Uttar Upazila Health Complex.
