Second consignment of Chinese relief for Rohingya arrives in Chittagong

The second Chinese consignment carrying humanitarian aid for the Rohingya has arrived in Chittagong. A cargo flight carrying 53.50 tons of relief arrived at Shah Amanat International Airport around 9am on Thursday. Chittagong Deputy Commissioner Zillur Rahman Chowdhury received at the aid at the airport.

Confirming the matter, Chittagong Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Habibur Rahman said: “China has sent tents and blankets for the Rohingya people.” Earlier on Wednesday, another consignment from China arrived in Chittagong, making it the first ever relief consignment to have arrived from the country since the influx began. At least 480,000 Rohingya have entered Bangladesh fleeing the violence in Myanmar.
